Alex works across a variety of outside broadcasting and single-camera productions. 

Since 2012 Alex has been freelance cameraman, Steadicam operator and producer building up a range of corporate and broadcast clients, from ITV to Severn Trent Water and Sky Sports to Nottingham City Council. Alex been regular on productions such as British Superbikes for Eurosport, and British Touring Car Championship on ITV as well as covering football regularly

Alex is also the creator and executive producer of 2 series of The Short Film Show, a TV series he built from scratch that was shown on Sky and Amazon prime. Alex has also produced his own concepts into on-screen pilot shows such as World Superdrone Racing, and has also been the production manager on a feature film “Adrift In Soho”. For the past 2 years, Alex has organised and managed shoots overseas for Lez mills. This role includes flying a large crew out to places like Greece and managing the entire shoot including, crewing, equipment, H+S, post-production and so on.

In 2018 Alex worked on the  Russian World Cup as a cameraman on the main host broadcasting crew which drew a worldwide audience of over 1 billion people.

Alex also owns and operates his own Black Magic 4K Camera equipment with an array of lenses and lights suitable for most productions, from film to web steaming. Most recently Alex appeared on The Gadget Show demonstrating Steadicam compared to domestic camera stabilisers.

Alex also works across ad-hock jobs including, Rugby, Basketball, Netball, Cricket, Boxing, Hockey, Strongman, Swimming, Live Music, News and Current affairs as a cameraman.

2006 – 2012

In February 2006 Alex joined Arqiva outside broadcasts as a staff cameraman and guarantee. His role was to look after the camera facilities and operate cameras on a multitude of large contracts.

Clients included all of the major broadcasters, Sky Sports, BBC, ITV & Channel 4, on jobs such as Question Time, One Man and His Dog, Speedway, Last Night of the Proms.


During 2004 Alex worked for a local production company called Clockwork television. Alex worked as a camera trainee mainly covering Saturday afternoon football games for Arial camera systems who was a client of Clockwork television. here Alex learned the skill of operating “Hot Heads”. Alex also covered many corporate events for local businesses.


Alex started his working life at Central television in Birmingham. One of his first roles was working on CITV and Central news as a sound assistant. He later moved into technical support learning the roles of the engineering department gaining a good overview of the workings of the station, undertaking basic maintenance of technical equipment and making cables.  Alex later moved into the media centre as a technical operator tasked with ingesting material, playing out and media management for the upcoming news programmes. This was a busy vibrant job that gave Alex a great understanding of the world of Television.
